"Not even Erdoğan gets in this kitchen without them!"

Soldiers involved in the attempted coup on 15 July went to raid
the Istanbul Municipal Logistic Center in Eyüp.  The raid leader
asked the cook at the center, which is linked to AKOM (Disaster
Coordination Center), "can you prepare meals for 10,000 people
tomorrow?"

Appropriately, a disaster center for a disastrous coup attempt.

In response, the cook said "no, tomorrow's my day off."  Stunned,
the angry raid leader told the cook to lead him to the kitchen. The
cook did so but stopped the raid leader at the door to the kitchen
and explained that "you have to put on plastic galoshes to enter
the kitchen."  The raid leader did as he was told.

Later on the raiders were taken into custody by the police without
a fight.

Fethullah olan ismini değiştiriyor
Guess his dad wanted to cover all the bases.

In Bor district of Niğde province, friends of Mehmet Fethullah
Erdoğan (!) began teasingly calling him 'Feto' (derisive name for
the alleged coup mastermind Fethullah Gülen) in the aftermath
of Friday's failed coup.  So Erdoğan applied to the court to have
his second name 'Fethullah' changed to 'Efe'.

Erdoğan explained his predicament this way: "my late father gave
me my name but I don't want to carry the name of a terrorist and
traitor.  Right now I'm unemployed and every day I wonder if it's
because of my name."

thing when he lands at Dulles.//

           Thoughtful...but kinda creepy, too.

Özlem Karaca (30) lives in Osmancık district of Çorum province and
she became engaged to Gendarmerie Sergeant Alper Akyar (30) seven
months ago.  The couple selected 19 July for their wedding day, in part
because it is also Akyar's birthday.

Last week Akyar returned to Osmancık from his post at the Zeytindağı
Gendarmerie station in Bergama but because of the coup attempt he was
recalled to duty on 16 July.  Nevertheless, Özlem hanım went ahead
with the wedding on 19 July, entering the marriage hall with her
nephew wearing an Akyar mask and cutting the cake by herself.

Damatsız düğün
A hologram next time if he still can't make it.

In fact, everyone at the wedding wore the same mask.  Akyar himself
lamented that "I wanted to be there but I'm on duty. Long live the
homeland."  The couple will try again on 26 July in Salihli, Manisa
province.
